Sodium benzoate is a commonly used Food Additive and it is mainly used as a food preservative.Sodium benzoate is a white granule or crystal powder, odorless or slightly benzoin, with a slightly sweet taste and astringent taste. Also known as sodium benzoate, the relative molecular mass is 144.12. It is stable in air and soluble in water. Its aqueous solution has a PH value of 8 and is soluble in ethanol.
