Maersk, CMA-CGM,  Hapag-Lloyd and other leading shipping companies have successively issued the latest notices of peak season surcharges and price increases, covering the US route, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and even some shipping companies have issued freight adjustment notices starting from July 1st

Levy US peak season surcharge

CMA-CGM’s official website has announced that from July 1, 2024 (loading date), a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will be levied from Asia to the United States, valid until further notice. The details are as follows:

FROM: Asia (including China, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macao, Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan)

TO: United States

Types of goods: dry containers, refrigerated containers, OOG containers, and miscellaneous containers

Fee standard:

$2160 per 20 foot container (all box types)

$2400 per 40 foot container/40HC high container/40 foot refrigerated container

$3040 per 45 foot container (all box types)

$3840 per 53 foot container (all box types)

The official website of CMA announced that the peak season surcharges from Asia (including China, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China, Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan) to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands would be levied from July 3, 2024 (the date of loading), with the amount of $2000 per container for all goods until further notice.

Levy West African peak season surcharge

CMA’s official website has announced that the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from China to West Africa will be adjusted starting from June 7, 2024 (loading date), and will remain valid until further notice. The specific charging standards are as follows:

From: China

TO: North West Africa (Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde,  Sao Tome and Principe) and South West Africa (Angola, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon, Cameroon)
